Mothership Music: A new world of event and entertainment.

Mothership Music is now a full service music & event company incorporating various areas of the music and entertainment industry from festivals, large scale and community events to corporate and private functions.
At present we are event promoters and are actively involved in event management, touring, artist bookings, publicity and promotion of tours and artists, and finally, our most established area: Event Producing.
 

Who We Are

Primarily conceived in 1992 as live music promoters and venue managers, Mothership Music have garnered a reputation as the ‘resurrections’ having successfully brought back venues such as, Coogee Bay Live (formerly Selina’s), The Lake Jindabyne Hotel, the Annandale Hotel, The Vic On The Park and The Iron Duke Hotel, to the live music scene as well as opening up ‘non traditional’ live venues such as UN Nightclub (formerly D.C.M).
Mothership Music is now a full service music event company incorporating various areas of the music, event and entertainment industry. At present we are actively involved in event management and producing, touring, publicity and promotion of tours and artists, and finally, our most established areas - event producing and artist’s bookings.
In this capacity it is our responsibility to organise your event from the booking of quality artists and securing venues to providing all staging and production requirements, organisation and management of publicity and promotion as well as the development and running the event from woe to go.
 

Our Team

Brent Lean – Managing Director

Brent has been actively involved in the industry for twenty years as both musician and promoter and has developed a unique understanding from both sides of the fence. He has built a strong reputation as someone who cares about the sustainable development of the Australian entertainment industry. His relationship with musicians, their management, and record companies guarantees a fair and equitable result for all parties. In particular his relationship with booking agencies and promoters, who look after major local and international acts is undeniably strong. They entrust him with the execution of their shows, tours and events. Knowing they will have a quality result means Mothership Music has the power to negotiate the best deals available on artist bookings and production elements, and in turn deliver an event project whether corporate, outdoor or touring, at a level that is unsurpassed.
 

Justin Nyker - Events and Operations

Justin has been working the entertainment and arts industry for approximately 15 years. He has a rounded skill base where he began working in art galleries during his fine arts studies which quickly progressed to the nightclub venue scene. Soon he advanced to large scale public events such as NYE Sydney, Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year Festival, The Commonwealth Games and The Channel V Music Bus Tour. Since joining Mothership Music, he has focused his skills in on the producing, event management and operation of a series of diverse community / public events, national tours, as well as a range of outdoor music events and festivals. Justin produces and operates a project with precision and an outlook that derives from a wide range of event, arts and entertainment experiences. His networks and relationships with authorities, promoters, artist management and media outlets ensure the delivery of a project at a professional level to the client brief and specifications.
 

 

Matt Sims - Events Manager
Matt was welcomed into the Mothership Music Family as Event Manager in 2009 and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for all events. Matt’s relaxed but firm nature has gained much respect from his crew, suppliers and clients within the event industry.
Matt has pride in the finest attention to detail in regards to all aspects of an event. Having started a career in the Events and Entertainment Industry at Age 15, Matt has developed and adapted skills in all aspects of events. With an early kick start with BLM Productions as a junior lighting programmer/operator Matt swiftly grasped the technical side of events and gained skills in lighting, sound, laser and stage design.
After completing his HSC secured a role as Event and Entertainment Coordinator at Macquarie University, here he was responsible for organising and promoting O-week events, Conception Day and the Uni Bar Events to name a few.
In 2009, after a year as Home Nightclubs Entertainment and Marketing Manager, Matt realised that his true love for large scale public events was where his skills truly belonged.
Now with 10 years experience behind him, Matt has a broad range of skills and knowledge of all aspects of events, from the earliest stages of development, through rolling the last truck offsite, and settling the budget and all accounts post event.

 

Amanda Hurst - Event Administration Amanda is Mothership Music's newest recruit joining the team in 2011 after working as a crew member with Mothership. She came fresh from uni having completed her second business degree majoring in arts and cultural events and place management. After six years of study Amanda is ready to put her theory work into practice.

She brings with her, her passion for the arts, music, live entertainment and public events and festivals. Her experience is a mixture between the private and public events sector having worked for many local governments and such events such as Parramatta City Council's Australia Day, SmARTarts Festival, Sydney Festival and Biennale of Sydney. However, after years of being in the audience front and centre of countless acts, she has finally crossed the barricade and is excited to be involved in creating unique platforms for sharing music, art and ideas.

Summary

Over the past twenty years we have worked as venue, artist and event consultants to a plethora of diverse projects and have gained invaluable experience by being in the trenches in all matters relating to the cohesive mix of live entertainment and the general operations and management of events. We feel we blend the two elements together seamlessly and offer services to make sure the overall out put of the event is balanced and maintained. We see our work as a collective endeavor working closely with client, artists, authorities, stakeholders and all affiliated areas to ensure the smooth and prosperous running of all shows.
